Skateport

Are roller skates and block parties making a comeback?

Since the weather became nice I've made a personal commitment to being more active in the community, and by community, I mean in the various neighborhoods that make up the beautiful city of Bridgeport.

Over the past few weeks the Skateport team has been building up anticipation for their opening event of the season, through social media I was being shown phenomenal footage from their 22’ season. Honestly FOMO generating moments captured by Daniel & Gary.

Being able to attend the opening event was extremely high on my “It would be epic if this could happen” list, I had some other commitments that had the capacity to overlap the timing of the event — the stars aligned and I was able to get some time.

As someone who prides himself on being able to document moments that really represent what's happening via a photograph, I'm not ashamed to say that no image can really convey all of the good vibes, positive energy and/or the sense of community that exists at their events.

With all of that being said, these are my photos from just over an hour of hanging out there. The event goes on for 4 hours, going from late afternoon to early evening, with a really solid DJ, some good options for food and beverage — it's in front of a brewery. It has all of the ingredients for being a phenomenal community event. If you're in Connecticut, or if you’re in the tri-state area and like to drive I highly encourage you to attend one of the events.

Check them out here or on social for updates and official details.

Hope you enjoy these photos, Peace.
