Quick Portrait Sessions v. 2
Portraits are as much about photography as they are about human connection. Good conversations, create comfortable environments, puts people at ease and allows for great candid moments.
In the last half of 2019 I had opportunity to meet a great deal of really interesting people, which was a blast for me because I really appreciate connecting with new people, especially with those who have cool stories and experiences.
Very similar to my other quick portrait session, I went into the session without much background about the conditions in which I’d be working to create a set of photos, and I really LOVE those scenarios.
True story, it allows me to be more creative and collaborative.
As you might be able to see from the photos, my primary objective was to capture her interactions with the artwork. This location, City Light Gallery in Downtown Bridgeport, due to the connection she has with the gallery as patron of the arts, and after speaking with her I quickly realized that this was perfect location for the portrait session. We talked about the different pieces that were on display, and why art is important to a community.
As I mentioned earlier, I love meeting new people, I appreciate every opportunity I get to learn about someone’s perspective. The conversations had during this portrait session left me feeling really inspired and motivated.
Last summer I made a conscious decision to really focus on doing projects that “matter”, by matter I mean projects that have a positive social component. A portrait from this session was part of campaign that highlights downtown Bridgeport, I’m all about highlighting Bridgeport and meeting people who want do the same.
Enjoy the photos, check out City Lights Gallery.
