Pivot Language Studio

Pivot Language Studio

If “I do this, for my culture” was a person, it would literally have to be Gary pivot.

I've mentioned this before in previous posts across social media and on this website, but I think Gary is one of the most methodical and detail oriented creatives I've ever met.

Upon entering his studio we instantaneously begin discussing creative execution, inspiration, and music — the pillars of creation, IMO, in Pivot Language Studio. What’s beautiful about this space is that it’s filled with references materials that motivate Gary as a creative, and you immediately get the sense of how important representation is for him as an artist. Meaning he’s thinking about the experience through and through, from multiple perspectives, with the overarching idea that he’s going to highlight his subjects in the most respectful and thoughtful manner.

Looking through his portfolio you might immediately notice the richness and depth he gives to skin, or the vibrancy of his chosen color palette for the image. None of that is by chance, I can assure you that every single element of the photo was considered throughout the production process.

What immediately struck me about this space was the insane amount of natural light his space receives throughout the day, that’s major currency to some who leverages light to create.

I’ve always referred to Gary as “The Abbott”, a reference from Cappadonna on Winter Warz, when he refers to his relationship to RZA, the mastermind who brought the collective vision to life. Gary’s studio feels like what imagined RZA’s basement felt like when he was assembling the clan - raw, exciting and overflowing with creative energy. Gary understands how to get the best out of a creative opportunity, his vision extends beyond the camera.

Highly encourage everyone to get familiar with Gary Pivot and Pivot Language.

Peace.
