Getting There is the Battle

Getting There is the Battle

As a child I spent many days traveling up and down the I-95 corridor from Connecticut to Georgia, thankfully always in a car with my family.

The idea of traveling great distances (3+ Hours) on a bus never appealed to me, I like controlling my journey.

I think I took a Greyhound 3 times in my life, just taking short 3 hour trips to and from college in Rhode Island. Those experiences shaped by 3 hour time limit threshold, because 3 hours really means 5 maybe 6 hours once you take on the traffic jams and routine delays,

These shots were snapped while on ride home from Virginia, those buses were packed out full of people from various backgrounds, literally a mini melting pot.

It made me think of that saying, "Getting There is Half the Battle", but I think getting there is the entire battle. There aren't many circumstances that people will travel great distances over the course of multiple hours in very tight conditions, this to me is a true test of our ability to adapt and maintain.

Just my thoughts, enjoy the photos.

Peace!
