Rethinking Co-working Spaces

Rethinking Co-working Spaces

I initially thought the idea of a co-working space was kind of odd.

Pre-COVID I always thought it was easier to find a quiet corner in my home, or an empty table at the local coffeehouse versus paying for the same quiet table at a co-working location.

My opinion changed once I went to B:Hive in downtown Bridgeport. After walking through the space for a photo assignment I really understood the benefits for a space like this, and why someone would have a subscription to a co-working location, especially if they’re running a small business or if they’re a full-time freelancer.

Made this collection of photos towards the end of 2019 as part of a project for the Bridgeport DSSD.

What I found most interesting about the B:Hive, and I guess this is could be applicable to any co-working space was the amount of diverse spaces, whether it's cubes or open workspaces, small & large conference rooms, or phone booths they really offered the full office environment without needing to have a large lease.

Enjoy the photos.
