Early Morning Roosevelt Island
When you’re in the middle of something that seems larger than life it’s hard to appreciate and take in the simplicity of what it actually is, just a community of people trying to make it happen.
A few weeks ago the family and I had the opportunity to spend the weekend on Roosevelt Island. We had no idea there was a beautiful, seemingly hidden community just a tram ride away from all that is Manhattan.
I created this collection of photos as I went to feed the meter at 7am on a Saturday morning. We were staying at the Graduate Hotel, on the 16th floor in a room that gave us the most beautiful views of Manhattan. It was the scene I saw from my hotel window that inspired me to create this photo set. I had never seen NYC from this perspective, looking so peaceful.
It was like watching the city that never sleeps take a nap.
I hope you enjoy these photos, Peace!
