When I reflect on this past weekend the lyrics from “victory lap” immediately start playing in my mind. One of the goals I had for 2021 was to create a set of photos for Graduate Hotels, I’m just an overall fan of the branding and how they’ve grown over the last few years. This goal wasn’t attached to anything strategic for me, I just really thought it would be cool to do something with them. 

As the lyrics go, I spoke my goals into the universe, shared my objectives with the right people and things started to shift and align in my favor. In a somewhat random sequence of events an opportunity presented itself for me to document a Pride Pop-Up Market hosted by the Graduate Hotel’s Roosevelt Island property. 

I checked a lot of boxes this weekend, I had never been to Roosevelt Island, I had never worked on a Pride project and this was my first time working with a hotel brand. 

The overall experience was great, I couldn’t have asked for a better day of photography. Everyone was happy, cheerful and full of energy which made my job super easy.
