Visual Workout
I’m constantly reminded of the idea that “Proper Preparation Prevents Poor Performance”, it’s important to stay in practice.
Street photography is the foundation for all of my creative work, I use those techniques and ways of seeing world for every project. There’s something uniquely special about this genre of photography, because the same rules for composition and storytelling apply even though each scene is completely unpredictable. The artist has to create on the spot, working a quickly changing scene to create something noteworthy.
It’s important for me to always make time to hit the streets, especially areas unfamiliar to me because they offer challenge given that the location is new to me. Some of the most important lessons that I’ve learned are how to find the story within every scene, how to locate the key point of interest and where the beauty is within my scene.
My favorite photo within this collection is the motel bedroom, the scene was very fresh, it smelled of cigarettes and bad decisions. I stopped at this motel to use the restroom, the Manager gave me access to this recently vacated room to handle my business, which gave me the opportunity to create this image.
Hope you enjoy these photos.
